01 Everyday home technology

Home Technology Help Visit

A focused visit for several related problems involving connected devices, apps, accounts or everyday settings around the home.

  • Setting up or simplifying connected devices, apps and settings
  • Reviewing several related everyday technology issues together
  • Helping someone feel more confident using their home technology

What is included

  • Up to 90 minutes on site
  • Review of the agreed devices, symptoms and priorities
  • Authorised basic setup, connection, account and app checks
  • Adjustments to accessible settings and controls where practical
  • Plain-English explanation of changes and useful next steps

02 Windows computer performance

Computer Performance Assessment

Choose between a short on-site suitability check and a deeper off-site assessment, depending on the computer and the decision you need to make.

Good for

  • An older computer that may no longer justify further spending
  • A capable computer that is performing worse than it should
  • Slow startup, poor everyday performance or storage concerns
  • Deciding whether to optimise, repair, upgrade or replace

Available options

  • On-site suitability check, £95: one computer, one principal concern and up to 45 minutes
  • Detailed performance assessment, £135: route-scheduled collection and return, normally two to three working days in custody and up to 90 minutes of active analysis
  • Review of the computer specification and Windows support position
  • A proportionate recommendation based on the evidence available
Outcome

A proportionate keep, improve, repair, upgrade or replace decision. The deeper service aims to isolate the likely performance constraints sufficiently to choose an economical next step.

Service boundary

One personally owned Windows computer per assessment. No dismantling, physical repair, data recovery, employer-managed devices or guaranteed fault resolution. Follow-on work is separate.

  • Wi-Fi drop-outs, weak areas or uneven coverage
  • Router or mesh placement that may be limiting performance
  • A home network that is unreliable or difficult to manage

Available options

  • Focused Wi-Fi support, £135: up to 90 minutes for one principal connection problem
  • Whole-property assessment, £195: room-by-room review of one normal dwelling, up to three occupied floors and two hours on site
  • Complex property assessment, from £275: for outbuildings, extensive gardens, larger properties or detailed cabling considerations
  • Equipment-neutral recommendations and prioritised next steps
Outcome

The immediate problem is resolved where practical, or you understand the coverage constraints and have a clear route to more reliable Wi-Fi.
